This post will wrap up Isaac's October trip to China and Hong Kong with his MBA class!
Tuesday, October 18th the class heard two seminars, one titled Not Just a Simple M & A Case, and the other, Doing Business in China, both at Hong Kong Baptist University. They had free time for lunch and the afternoon at Festival Walk, which is a big mall.
That evening they visited Invest Hong Kong.
Wednesday, October 19th, Isaac + class toured Cathay Pacific Airways.
They also toured the DHL Central Asia Hub.
The next day (Thursday) they had their two last seminars at HKBU, entitled Financial Issues in New Developing Markets and Hong Kong Logistics Infrastructure and Operation. There was free time for a late lunch and then another corporate visit, this time to CLP Holdings Limited.
One of the things Isaac liked about HK was the architecture.
Thursday was the last day of seminars and tours. It all wrapped up with the Harbor Discovery Tour & Dinner. The cohort took an evening boat ride around Victoria Harbor. Isaac loved the city lights of Hong Kong.
Typhoon Haima was supposed to make landfall Friday so an optional Macau sightseeing tour for the next day was cancelled (Isaac wasn't signed up for that anyway). Everyone stayed out rather late Thursday as it was maybe the last night they would have in HK where they weren't stuck in the hotel.
The typhoon ended up stalling and weakening, not making landfall as early as expected. Still, Friday, October 21st was spent mainly in hotel rooms. Isaac slept, caught up on some work emails, watched a movie, and kept an eye on the harbor from his hotel window. Most places were closed that day due to Haima.
Saturday was also mainly rainy and unscheduled. By afternoon the skies had cleared.
Everyone was able to go out for one last dinner that evening.
The flight home left Sunday morning, October 23rd.
Because of the time difference, and after traveling via plane, bus, and car, Isaac arrived home in the early afternoon on Sunday. He'd had a great trip, seen so many interesting things, built relationships with his classmates, but was ready to be home again and we were certainly happy to have him back!
